I read today that: 6. But I am not sure yet.

So I assume the hpvsa issue still exists and requires a backrev driver even on 6. I have not. I was never able to update to that version and actually test it. I will revisit this eventually. Not solving this specific issue, cause the hp ms gen8 doesnt use the vmw-ahci driver since it got its own driver from HP. The discribed solution by Johan workes perfectly fine for the new hp esxi 6. Tested it today! B120i raid controller after a reboot of the host that specific part of the virtual disk keeps being written fast, so there is caching involved. Not sure why this is, must be something like image sectors being allocated on first write, which seems a very costly operation in ESXi 6.

b120i raid controller This however was already known to me. But what you describe with being slow at first, and then speeding up, is not what is happening here on ESXi 6. As far as I know, there's really no option that would allow you to somehow convert one RAID scheme to another without a lot of finagling. It may b120i raid controller may not work, so use at your own risk. Given that you have a known GOOD backup of everything on the array, you could try: 1.

Break the mirror between the two RAID 1 arrays. Test if you can boot and have all data from both of the 2 arrays. If the test is successful, break the mirror between the two drives in one of the arrays. Test if you can boot from that drive. If the tests are b120i raid controller, then you're left with the option of creating a completely new RAID array and rebuilding everything from b120i raid controller. Posted January 19, edited.
